John W. Cairnes has a deep heritage in Harford County, where his family roots date back to the 1700s. The Cairnes family includes a long lineage of dedicated farmers and proprietors. In 2006, the Cairnes family was named a Century Farm Family and awarded an official citation by the Maryland Senate for "demonstrating commitment to our State's agricultural heritage by running their family farm for at least 100 years".
